This is it

I graduated college on May 22nd!!! I can't believe it's finally over. My mom and I left New York on the 23rd and then drove cross country. We stayed on Mackinac Island for two nights, it's as beautiful as I remembered. The fudge was delicious but this time we only biked once around the island (8 miles!) instead of twice. Our other stop that I was looking forward to was Montana. I love Montana, I want to live there and meet a nice manly cowboy with a horse ranch. Missoula is beautiful, the whole state is really pretty in general. Minnesota was also very beautiful with all those lakes. Now I'm home for summer. Unfortunately I missed Rosie by a day!!! I was pretty disappointed, especially since she literally got onto the ferry I got off of without us even seeing each other!!! Home is great though, delicious food, my pretty room, good friends. The weather has been kind of crappy but I really needed some time to catch my breath. Hopefully a job will come through soon for the fall but until then I get to write a little bit for the local paper. I can't wait to see my byline in the newspaper!!! It's pretty crazy to realize I actually have a college degree. I was very lucky to have such a full, well rounded college experience. I know I'll miss it. But for now, this is it.

Sliding, slipping, away from everything. The pressure in my skull pounds bruises into my thoughts. I'm angry, irritable, frustrated. Time is going too fast and too slow at the same time. I need to leave but I know I will miss the view, the scent, the taste. Faces that used to be so familiar blur as they flee my everyday life. The mattress yielding beneath me will soon belong to another. My home will become a stranger as I move towards the past. Future moments linger, trembling, unknowing. I'm tired.
