Mouthful of Forevers, last two lines get me every time

I am not the first person you loved.
You are not the first person I looked at
with a mouthful of forevers. We
have both known loss like the sharp edges
of a knife. We have both lived with lips
more scar tissue than skin. Our love came
unannounced in the middle of the night.
Our love came when we’d given up
on asking love to come. I think
that has to be part
of its miracle.

This is how we heal.

will hold me like I’m hope. Our arms
will bandage and we will press promises
between us like flowers in a book.
I will write sonnets to the salt of sweat

of your nose. I will write a dictionary
of all the words I have used trying

You hate that you feel so deeply, because he never wanted to drink from what you had to offer. Do you not know? Do you not know that any man would be so lucky as to have someone like you? That the stars are envious of your passion and the way your soul burns. Do you not know? That winter has wished that it could be as powerful as you, so that it could cover the whole world in it’s crystal touch.

Spring is in your footsteps, Summer in your laughter, Autumn in your eyes, and your soul cuts into the hearts of those you meet like winter.

Do you not know? That no matter how deep the ocean is, there is life. So love deeply, for in your depths life is found. Do you not know? That some men would lose their lives for a heart like yours. Do you not know? That you should never apologize for the love you overflow, for some have been praying for love their whole life, and you might be the answer.

Do you not know? That you are allowed to love deeply, hurt deeply, laugh deeply, and live deeply. Where else will our roots go? Where else will our adventure find us? Where else can we ever hope to grow, but in the depths of loves.
